[Bug] losing track of game status #1

Description

Despite numerous troubleshooting and debugging sessions, the Jackbox shard API (or our implementation of it) is unreliable. The OBS overlay continues to show the room code (and plays audio) when a game has started and we are no longer in a lobby.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Game session in progress
  2. Begin a new game, enter code into picker.
  3. Play through game, choose new game at end.
  4. Enter new code into picker.
  5. Observe OBS overlay behavior.

Expected Behavior

  1. Game session in progress
  2. Begin a new game, enter code into picker.
  3. Play through game, choose new game at end.
  4. Enter new code into picker.
  5. Observe OBS overlay behavior.
    a. overlay should disappear when game begins and not come back until new game/code.

Actual Behavior

OBS overlay will:

  1. sometimes it will flash in a loop
  2. sometimes it will stay on screen
